I’m a 6th generation Houstonian with a camera.

My name is Sarah Morris, and I was not born with a camera in my hand. I took photography as an elective while attending the University of North Texas back in the 00’s, and I changed my major from Journalism to Photography after the second class meeting. We were to choose one subject matter to cover for the entire semester, which was simultaneously intimidating and exciting. I somewhat arbitrarily chose small towns in Texas for my theme. Traveling alone across West Texas and meeting new people with my camera to break the ice was an experience that cemented my love for the image creation process. Today, the subject matter may be different, but I receive the same enjoyment making photographs for all of the wonderful families I am fortunate to meet.
